National Museum of Scotland/ Royal Scottish Museum currently the most visited attraction in Scotland after a major refit .You can easily spend a full day here and still have to comeback tomorrow. The NMS also have other fascinating museums in their portfolio.
National Galleries- featuring the best classical art in the world, the new National Portrait Gallery as well as the fascinating Gallery of Modern Art . The Art Lover is well served in Edinburgh.
The Former Royal Yacht Britannia. A relative newcomer to Edinburgh’s world class attractions but now established as a favourite.
Palace of Holyrood House. The Queens official residence in Scotland with Royal connections going back beyond Mary Queen of Scots!
Museum of childhood. A bit of a hidden gem, right on the Royal mile but great memories of bygone childhoods and great fun for kids of all ages. The link also lists other Edinburgh Museums including The Scott Monument.
The Edinburgh Zoo. A MUST on all trips to Edinburgh and now even more so with Britain’s only pair of Giant Pandas on view.
Dynamic Earth - Wonderful building holding a stylishly displayed display of the formation of, and life on earth. Thousands of hands on activities. Definitely a kids favourite!
